It's been talked about, mainly by me and ralph, but its never been listed or posted. So I am going to put some details in writing incase anyone asks.....

This year @Heineyfarm we are putting a BOUNTY on the buckstops ravine, particularly the "back section", -ie- pass the crossroads. This is how I hope it to work.

1. Starting pot is $100.
2. If you want to "try" for the bounty, you will have to throw $5 into the "pot" before you enter....you don't pay ahead of time your not "eligible."
3. Winching will NOT be allowed on the last rock obstacle or to get "out of the ravine." If you winch there, you will forfeit the pot.
4. You break, your done and forfeit the pot. Please try again ;)
5. The pot will be cumulative from all past attempts, and winner takes all.
6. I need to witness, or have indisputable video of the completion. Sorry I want a youtube video at the least....
7. You make it, you name it.

If you haven't walked it, I encourage anyone to....especially if you think your gonna try to put your rig in it.....Basically its a strong twisty Vnotch, with some questionable areas that ends with a decent size rock that may be impassible in itself ....

I'll be honest the trail is crazy to even attempt and probably more of a winch fest overall, but I'm sure someone will make it some day...and I think if enough get in it, it may open to nicer possibilities. Last year it was pretty wet and made it hard to enter, but I think there will be some moments of opportunity this year.......

----edit 7/16/2012---------

Bounty is off.....Trailed completed and named on 07/14/12. New name= THE JAKE. more details and video below

Here is a pretty crude video of me walking the "trail" last weekend. I start at the "main" obstacle and then walked it in reverse (I was already there....) This video will give you a general idea of it..... To me it doesn't do it much justice though.

Pictures will probably not do it justice..... but I will try to get something in the near future. The rock is basically a single "V" ledge which is probably around 24" or more, but there are other rocks that make the approach and angle difficult...I would be VERY surprised if anything less then a 37" tire makes it in the current condition.

Ultimately I hope the more ppl try it the more it will open up and reveal more challenges. I remember when excaliber was 80% dirt.....Now it looks 100% rock at the top. And lefty is turning into some ledges already also....I would imagine this might do the same.

I updated the initial post with the new pot.....and I posted a video of me walking it in reverse to give you an idea of the flavor of the trail.

Here is a brief video of what NOT to do....

I think the correct line might be to go "strait" at the first turn, then ride your left around it. But that is just a guess.

We are a private park open to the "public" on certain event weekends, or we are available for group rentals. The next "open" event is scheduled July 14th. <Click for thread link>

Contact me if your thinking another date, we might have some other "private" groups running before then. PM me on here or find my phone number/email in the link thread above.

---details reposted from recent event thread----

The trail was completed @ the last event.

Late Saturday night, on a night run, a group hit the Buckstop's ravine. Nick Lacey decided to ride it all the way….meaning he hit the Bounty trail, and he made it. He woke up the next morning and took S.Thacker over and they both hit the trail again, and pretty much walked it…. When I heard about it I asked him to do it again so I can get video….So he did it the third time.

He declined the bounty, saying it was easy being so dry. He did name the trail though. So from now on we will call the trail from the crossroads on….. The JAKE. If people don’t understand what that means……tell them “It’s a Jake thing.”….then tell them about the great wheeler we met through this hobby.

There is a couple others I got my eye on, so since this bounty was declined....maybe we'll push it to another trail/hill.

Total 5 people have been up it. Not that its super hard, or super easy...just very dependent on weather and line. It could even turn into a lot hard if more ppl run it...
