We have a 6.7 in our F350 stake bed at work and I expected a lot more power from the way everyone talks about them. I've heard a lot of great things about those motors but ours seems like a dog compared to everybody else's stories.

When one our big trucks are down we usually run either our 6.7 stake bed or 6.2 dump truck and they don't seem much different. Really surprised with how much our 6.7 hunts for gears. I expect it out the 6.2 gasser but not the diesel.

I am happy with the power, tranny shift points and the defueling the computer does durning hard shifts is annoying. The gearing seems on with the gears and tire size. And the fawking thing will not fit in my garage so I have to make some room for it in the mess I have on the big side of my shop
You can manually shift that tranny to stop gear hunting. I have heard not to tow in 6th gear

Pretty sure Jeff had to put a piston in that red dually before he bought it from his friend because that guy kept towing in double overdrive when Jeff told him not to. It's just not good to lug them under a heavy load I guess.

Yes Jeff told me about that on the way to windrock the first time we all went. Then I researched it and he was right. It creates a certain bad harmonics and all kinds of bad stuff can happen. Including broken crankshafts.

maybe the f550 has a differant trans or trans shift points and thats why it does do it. probably not concerned with "comfort" shifts on a 550 perhaps??

Ok that's worse than my Craigslist pic. I have serious doubts about Rachel's involvement of your demise. So we need the real story!! Let her log on and tell her side too
