I really want to go on one these rides sometime, just that being 4 hours away it's not really a day trip for me. Get really tired do going with the 5/30 groups (ride 5 minutes, stop to BS and drink beer for 30 minutes). Don't mind sitting around BS'ing and drinking beer but I can do that when I'm at home.....when I go someplace to ride I actually want to go riding!

Not being 530 is why i enjoy it so much.

We can probably pull off a two dayer sometime.

Finding a hotel or something to stay in isn't the problem, it's just finding the time as it turns into an entire weekend event unless you get up at 4 a.m. on Saturday and then don't get home until midnight.

Went to Haspin a couple weeks ago to ride with a group that was arranged on the internet. There were several that probably made a 4 hour round trip and were only out on the trails for 2-3 hours......and of that 2-3 hours I bet they were only actually riding half of that time. Fortunately there 2-3 other rigs there that actually wanted to ride. We spent over an hour riding before anybody else even got there, and then went back out after the others left for the day and rode for several more hours. There was one guy that pulled a gigantic tri-axle, multi slideout equipped toyhauler there and doubt he spent an hour on the trails.......but did make sure everybody knew that his toyhauler cost $75,000, and his new F-250 SuperDuty was modified to make 650 HP, and his wife just bought a $50,000 car..........

Sounds like your typical sxs guy.

That is what happened to me at rush. Went with a group. They said 9am.

It was almost noon before they hit the trail. I left avout 930 and circled back. I had 20 miles on wgen i came back to meet them.
By 3 we had made 6 miles as a group and i hadnt needed 4wd yet.

I finally split off again and put another 40 on before i loaded up

I am a sun up to sundown rider. I eat while riding, or if we stop to repair, winch, etc.

If we go 3 miles in 8 hrs i want it to be becuase we are on tge nastiest trail imaginable. Not something i can run my car down.

We average 80 miles on these rides. Some "trails" are oil well access roads that we can run 25mph down. Some stuff is tighter and slows is down, some are actual roads where we hit 45 and run a couple miles to next trail.

We stop to fix things and then we roll out again. If we are stopped for more than 10 minutes jim bob that leads gets in and goes
